What am I looking for in a school for my child? I am sure that all parents ask themselves this question from time to time. I believe that most parents want a friendly, caring and supportive environment for their child, a place where their gifts and talents will be recognised and encouraged to flourish, a setting where opportunities will be given for self awareness, character and maturity to develop and classrooms where the good quality of teaching and learning enable each child to achieve their very best in terms of academic results.

At Kings Monkton School, it matters to us that each child should feel valued and respected, secure and comfortable in knowing who to turn to if help and support is needed.

As a school we pride ourselves on the range of activities and experiences that we offer to our pupils, which allow them to explore their potential to the full.

Encouraging pupils to take responsibility, to learn to exercise self-discipline and to grow in independence, as well as awareness of others, are all vital to us in preparing them to lead fulfilled and productive lives as they grow into adults.

Striving for excellence in the classroom lies at the heart of all that we do. Whatever their level of ability it matters enormously to us that we enable each child to achieve to the highest standards of which he or she is capable.
