Foundation

With the Nursery having paved the way for children in many areas, a flying start to school life is assured as children enter our Foundation class and begin, as they are ready, to acquire knowledge of letters and numbers and to make a start on our phonics and reading programme. Musical activities, early steps in physical education, creativity in art and craft, use of the computer and an introduction to learning French all serve to enrich the experience. Their day is still based around stimulating play activities, which reinforce the children’s natural curiosity and sense of fun and wonder in learning new things.

In the Foundation class, children usually attend on a full-time basis during term time (8.45am – 3.15pm). Care, supervision and a range of activities are still available outside these hours from 8.00am to 6.00pm as well as during school holidays. An excellent range of meals and snacks is provided on a daily basis.
