Pupils are taught in small classes so that they can receive as much individual attention as possible. The educational environment aims to stimulate interest, enquiry and curiosity while offering first class instruction and support.

Great care is taken to develop positive characteristics within a child’s personality, encouraging self esteem, self confidence and a sense of responsibility towards others.

Kings Monkton Primary School provides a broad based education with emphasis on a thorough grounding in the basic skills of language and number work. Within each class in Mathematics, spelling and reading, pupils progress at a pace best suited to their aptitude and the more able are given challenging work to enrich their knowledge and deepen their understanding.

Great emphasis is placed upon the core subjects of Mathematics, English and Science. Art and Craft, Technology, Geography, History, French, Computing, Music, Drama and PE also form part of the weekly timetable as complementary subjects providing a balanced and engaging curriculum.
