Pupil playing with hulahoop

A visit to Kings Monkton is obviously the first step and we are happy to give parents and prospective pupils as much time as necessary in order to get to know the school at first hand. Children may join the school at any age and at any time during the school year if there are places available. All children are assessed before a place is offered.

This is an informal procedure for infants, usually when they spend a day at the school prior to joining. Junior children are usually required to sit an entrance test and this is also the case for secondary children. The test normally comprises Reasoning, English and Maths.

Entry to the College is by individual consideration. It is normally expected that students will have at least 5 GCSE passes at A* - C. Those considering Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Biology will need to have achieved at least a B grade on Higher papers in those subjects at GCSE.
