Welcome to Kings Monkton School
It is essential that education enables young people to secure
the greatest possible success and fulfilment in academic and other
areas. Kings Monkton School has had a strong track record in this
respect since its foundation over 140 years ago. However, at Kings
Monkton School we believe that such success can best be achieved
when young people are given the opportunity to play to their
strengths, rather than being forced into a mould.
From my very first visit to Kings Monkton I was captivated by
the happy, caring and supportive atmosphere that pervades the
school. We endeavour to know each pupil well, so that parents and
staff can work together to encourage and nurture them at every
stage of their education – whilst also laying firm foundations for
independence in later life. At the same time, we want our pupils to
be happy, because happiness breeds success. School should be
enjoyable, as well as challenging!
We also teach the importance of participating fully in the
community. This begins with the school community itself. Here, we believe in
inclusivity – not exclusivity. However, at Kings Monkton School
our city centre location gives us a unique opportunity to take
advantage of the many experiences the city of Cardiff provides for
enrichment in our national culture and heritage. At the same time,
our involvement with CfBT Education Trust enables us to incorporate a
very special, global perspective into our curriculum.
I hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you
will re-visit it regularly to keep up to date with our latest news.
I also hope that, if you have not already done so, you will
contact us
to arrange an individual visit. You will be most welcome.
