World Spelling Day 2011
The first World Spelling Day is in the history books and Kings
Monkton was a part of it!
Congratulations to everyone for setting the first world record
by answering more than 52 million questions.
Kings Monkton Primary School took part
and gained a whopping 27,067 points from correct
spellings!
The Platinum award winners were as
follows:
Trishanth (Y1), Ibrahim (Y3), Megan
(Y3), Lewis (Y5), Mehak (Y5), Peter (Y5) and Dagmawi
(Y5).
The overall winner was Trishanth in year
1 with a total of 2,690 points - well done!
All pupils who entered the competition on the
day have participation certificates and the validation
process now starts for the winners in each category – results will
be posted online on Friday 11 March. Next year will be even
bigger again with The World Education Games also including World
Science Day!
