The Sixth Form College

Kings Monkton College offers flexible A-level choices with classes averaging only five students. Subjects are taught by highly qualified subject specialists with a proven track record of examination success. Students receive expert, extensive and personalised advice on entry to university, including Oxford and Cambridge.

The College prides itself on its success in examinations and in securing places for its students in the university of their choice. Students are taught within the school's existing facilities but have a separate sixth-form centre with their own common room, computer suite, study areas and seminar rooms. College students form part of a close-knit, mutually-supportive community and the emphasis is upon acquiring responsible independence in preparation for university life.

As a preparation for life and also as a means of strengthening their University applications, students are offered, and encouraged to participate in, a wide range of activities that develop team and leadership skills. These might include running a lunch-time club for school pupils, taking part in the Young Enterprise scheme, helping young readers in our Primary school, charitable fund raising or playing an active role in the College Council.

Opportunities are provided for students to gain further valuable accreditation in areas such as Young Enterprise, the Certificate in Spoken English for Higher Education and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme.
