At Kings Monkton School student voice is very important to us. The aim of the whole school council is to make our (the students) voice heard and to work together to produce a positive ethos around the school by improving facilities, resources and the learning environment.
The school council consists of a male and female representative from each year group, from Year 3 right through to Year 11, who themselves hold individual year council meetings.
Each year council consists of elected representatives from each form who meet once a half term and discuss matters to be brought to the school council who also have regular half termly meetings.
The whole school council then meet with the Principal to find ways of putting the students’ ideas into practise. The school council has already had meetings with the Parents’ Association, held their first school disco and a School Easter Egg Hunt. The school council also runs and contributes to the annual charity contributions.
If you have any ideas or suggestions on improving the school, please feel free to contact our school council representatives on firstname.lastname@example.org. Please put ‘School Council’ as the subject of your email.
